Intellectual Property

It has been stated that most intellectual property in our industry has the shelf life of a banana. While certainly an exaggeration, it underscores the constant threats facing clients trying to protect and build their brand names and other intellectual property. We counsel and represent clients on issues relating to trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition, domain name cyber squatting, false advertising, trade secrets, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights – whether it be obtaining, protecting, or enforcing such rights.

We regularly assist clients in obtaining, protecting, and enforcing trademarks including conducting and reviewing searches for trademark clearance, filing and prosecuting trademark applications, handling the prosecution and defense of trademark administrative proceedings, monitoring and policing the use of trademarks by third parties, providing general trademark and domain name counseling, and, when circumstances require, defending and prosecuting trademark infringement claims in both federal and state courts.
